AVNTE Magazine is a student-led fashion publication at James Madison University that
represents students passionate about fashion, photography, writing, business, and creative direction. Inspired by the concept of Avant-Garde, the publication will invoke innovation, expression, and the concept of “anti-fashion”. In addition to providing a place for
students to showcase their ideas, the magazine would give students an opportunity to build their
portfolios and resumes, network with peers with similar interests, and gain access to future
career opportunities within multiple industries.

The purpose of this student organization is to offer the students of James Madison University access to and increase awareness of whitewater sports such as rafting and kayaking. We will also give students the opportunity to camp and explore the Appalachian Mountain region with their colleagues and bond as a club and a community.

FIE's mission is to inspire, inform, and help prepare educators to teach abroad while building a strong club community built on shared career goals and educational practices.

Members will learn about opportunities to teach abroad including the Peace Corps, International Schools, Department of Defense Schools, Fulbright U.S. Student Program, Teaching English programs, etc., from speakers of the organizations and/or experienced JMU faculty. Additionally, members will learn information to prepare themselves for a career abroad, including but not limited to culturally responsive teaching and globalized curriculum. Meetings will also focus on ways during a student's time at JMU that they can prepare including study abroad opportunities, minor, and course options. Members will also gain a community of educators to share abroad opportunities and seek advice from even after graduation.
