A Moment of Magic makes a tremendous impact on the kids we provide services to, as we often are not just making their day better, but their overall quality of life.

If you want to provide hands-on service to children with medical vulnerabilities (especially in character), joining A Moment of Magic is the BEST option for several reasons!

We're established! We have been around since 2015 and because of this we have several benefits such as our nonprofit status, long-lasting relationships with over 250 nonprofits and hospitals across the country, press coverage by more than 300+ international media outlets, fully developed training materials and resources, direct connections to professionals, high costume quality standards and partners who bring the prices down for us, and a community of over 500+ volunteers. There's nothing like A Moment of Magic!

We are a group of students committed to nourishing cultural, intellectual, political and
economic awareness about the African continent and its connection to the JMU community. We
value people from different backgrounds who hold different ideas about life and we celebrate the
diversity of our campus and our world. We also organize various cultural and promotional events
to build community and foster collaboration amongst African students and those interested in
Africa, and to encourage awareness of Africa within our JMU community and in the greater
Harrisonburg area, ultimately contributing back to our continent.

ASO often organizes events that celebrate African culture, including fashion shows, dance performances, and cultural workshops. Joining allows you to immerse yourself in and learn about different African traditions. It offers a community of students who share a common interest in African culture. This can lead to forming friendships, finding mentors, and feeling a sense of belonging on campus. The brothers of Alpha Chi Sigma strive for academic excellence in the field of chemistry while being a brotherhood. We are involved in service in relation to science. We do chemistry demonstrations for the Harrisonburg community. The requirements to rush (during the fall semesters) are, must have a GPA of 2.5 or above.

Established in 1990, alpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority Inc. is the largest Asian-American interest sorority with more than 60 chapters across the country and in Canada.
The mission of JMU alpha Kappa Delta Phi is to provide a sisterhood amongst women while promoting leadership, scholarship and Asian awareness within JMU and in the Harrisonburg community. By establishing ourselves on campus, we hope to become a haven for the conflicting dual cultural role of the Asian-American woman as well as become a medium for Asian-American women to establish better and improved social integration with other ethnicities on campus. With these goals set, we offer unconditional support and encouragement to one another while upholding the highest levels of integrity. We apply what we have learned as individuals to show the strong characters within ourselves and those we hold closest to us - our sisters. Along with the qualities that alpha Kappa Delta Phi represents, we strive to become an avenue in our community for positive change and to nurture minority growth. Although we remain a minority within a minority, together we hold a powerful voice as Asian-American sisters brought together by a common purpose.
