The purpose of this organization is to provide a competitive, student-run team where players can actively participate in intercollegiate basketball competitions, as well as give back to the surrounding JMU community.

Our club is comprised of 20-25 members and we strive to continue playing organized basketball at a very competitive level, with the ultimate goal of winning the Club Basketball National Championship. We started the 2023 season ranked at #2 in the country. We aspire to help out in the community and represent James Madison University in the best way possible.

Our season goes throughout both semesters and we host home tournaments at UREC each semester as well as travel to other schools for tournaments. We participate in the NCBBA (National Club Boys Basketball Association) which runs during the fall and spring semesters. The league has over 150 teams all around the country. Our division consists of 9 Virginia schools. The regional and national tournaments happen in the spring.

JMU Bass also offers a chance at the competitive side of college fishing where members can tryout to compete competitively against other colleges in fishing tournaments.

Caving Club, also known as Madison University Student Grotto (MUSG), provides a safe and fun atmosphere for horizontal caving. Our club is co-ed, has around 30 members and is active year round. Check out http://musg.caves.org or instagram.com/jmu_caving for pictures!

We take a Saturday or Sunday day trip every weekend, as well as travel camping and caving trips at least twice a semester. Dues include everything you will need and membership is open all year round.

The purpose of this organization is to organize snow sport enthusiasts, including skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels, and present a fun, social atmosphere for which the members can network. For members to be able to work together to coordinate trips to Snowshoe, Massanutten, Canada, and out West, and to come together for volunteer events to benefit the community.

Members of Boarderline gain access to deals the Ikon pass as well as on large group trips out west during winter break, as well as to Canada during spring break. Members are also invited to join us on our Snowshoe, West Virginia trips during the second semester and get free bandanas and stickers as well as access to other merchandise.

The purpose of this organization is to provide students who have a recreational and competitive interest in gymnastics with a place to work out and meet other students. Fulfilling two functions of student organizations, our gymnastics club serves as a place to encourage social development and knowledge for working together as an organized group. Lastly, it is designed to encourage students to participate in competitions within the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Club (NAIGC).

Members will see that from this club they get to join without any prior experience and get to learn new skills and master existing skills. Members create new friendships with people with similar interests and get to carry those friendships for the rest of their lives. In addition members have the opportunity to travel with the team to competitions and show off their progress.

We are a competitive ice hockey team playing in the Division II American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) against various teams including UVA, WVU, UMD, Duke, NC State and various others. We play primarily between October and February (not including playoffs) and we normally take 20-25 players.

This squad is perfect for the cheerleader who has a genuine passion for the sport of cheerleading and is willing to work hard to accomplish team goals. Welcoming both rookies and veterans, this team does NOT cheer at football or basketball games because we are a strictly competitive team.

JMU Equestrian offers both a student-run club and a competitive team for students with varying equine interest levels. The two organizations are connected, as all IHSA team members are also involved in the club, though many club members do not ride. We pride ourselves on being a relaxed, supportive, and family-like club of friendly, horse-loving Dukes. Our common equine interests form lasting friendships and memories.

Our mission is to spread our passions for the olympic sport of fencing to anyone who is interested in learning. We welcome all to our fencing club regardless of gender, orientation, age, or identity. Despite being an olympic sport for over a 100 years, the majority of us mainly all enjoy getting the chance to bout each other whether it's sabre, foil, or epee. We hope that when an individual decides to join that they will share their fun experience with fencing and invite friends to join in the sport.
