This has been a very exciting year for SafeRides! Early in the semester, we hit a huge milestone of 30,000 rides. This achievement has brought out even more excitement and passion in our members as we continue to grow the organization. With that in mind, we are also ambitiously embarking on a campaign called Drive for 25, in which we hope to raise $2500 in order to rent and operate a fifth car. In addition, we have secured new local sponsors, including a partnership with JMU Athletics. What's more, we are taking fundraising efforts to a whole new level. Each of our eight teams is hosting its own creative fund-raiser to support the SafeRides mission. Individual members have even taken the initiative to create fund-raisers, including a raffle event called Cali-Blue lotto and other brand new events that are in the planning phases for spring semester.
Internally, we have started a membership committee to include members from the organization and executive board in the member selection process. This allows everyone to take a part in the growth of SafeRides as new members are chosen. Moving into the spring semester, we look forward to continue ex-panding SafeRides. impact in the community and acting as a positive influence on our campus.
